Just In: University of Uyo Secures British Council Funded Grant
The University of Uyo has received a grant from the British Council for a project focused on Technical and Vocational Education and Training. The project, which will last for one year, seeks to improve sustainability and economic development in Nigeria by leveraging digital technologies in TVET. Professor Emmanuel Akpabio, a Geography and Human Resources Management professor at the University of Uyo, announced this during a press conference. He noted that the project is a collaboration with Edinburgh Napier University, led by Dubem Ikediashi. Akpabio explained that the construction industry is shifting towards using advanced digital tools like Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and sustainability practices. Because of this, professionals need skills that go beyond traditional methods.
